Weighbridge
J.P. Ryan has commissioned fully Calibrated and Certified Weighbridges at our Dublin and Cork Depots.
These facilities will be available to users in order to ensure full compliance with the IMO SOLAS REGULATIONS VI/2, which came into effect on July 1, 2016.
A summary of the weighing procedure is mentioned below which meets the requirements of Method No.1 of the Solas Regulations for obtaining the verified gross mass of a container.
Dublin Procedure;
- The Driver proceeds to the weighbridge at CTS Dublin Port and opens the twist locks.
- The Driver inputs the requested information into the weighbridge terminal.
- The Gross Weight is read by the weighbridge’s computer software.
- The laden container is raised momentarily from the trailer.
- The Nett Weight is read by the weighbridge’s computer software.
- A VGM Ticket is printed instantly showing the container’s Verified Gross Mass, Container Number, Haulier’s Name, Date and Time and authorised signatory.
- The driver closes his twist locks and leaves the weighbridge.
- An electronically signed VGM Document can be then emailed to your office or the Shipping Line on your behalf.
Cork Procedure.
- On arrival at CBSL Little Island, the Truck, Trailer and Laden Container are weighed.
- The Gross Weight is read by the weighbridge’s computer software.
- The Driver departs CBSL and proceeds to Tivoli to have his laden container lifted off.
- The Driver returns to CBSL and the Truck and Trailer are weighed.
- This will generate the Verified Gross Mass Document for the container.
- An electronically signed VGM Document can be emailed to the Shipping Line on your behalf with the Container Number, Haulier’s Name, Date and Time and authorised signatory.
- A VGM Ticket can be given to the driver upon request.
